Glamping: Canopi Bintan Indonesia

It was long ago since i did my last blog. For valentines me and my husband decided to go to Bintan for a short getaway. Bintan is the closest getaway you can go when you are in Singapore. From one hour ferry from Tanah Merah Ferry you will reach this gem island. We left Singapore around 6 am in the morning and reached the ferry so early. When we got there we picked up our tickets to bintan resort ferry (http://www.brf.com.sg/)  which we booked online  for 35 dollars one way. Since it is weekend we expected that there will be a lot of people going there.

After getting our tickets, we ate breakfast at this restaurant and chilled for a while to enjoy the sunrise.

We finally checked in and board the ferry. As expected the ferry was full but the whole trip was comfortable.

Finally we reach the Bintan ferry terminal and we had an express lane to the immigration which is part of the  privileged given to all guest of Canopi Resort. Kindly take note that you wont be getting your passport after immigration because they will endorsed it to the hotel reception for your whole stay. I read somewhere in another blog about it that is why we were no longer surprised. DSCF1034

Finally we reached Canopy at 12 PM (Bintan time) and we are again lucky to have checked in early because of room availability.

What i nice view to have, who would have thought that this is a man made lagoon. The water is so clear and the place really looks new.

Look how is this traveling box converted into side table.

The room exceeded my expectation than those we booked in Bangkok which are 5 star hotel ( i will write them on another blog).

I really love the furniture and the design. This is indeed an adventure glamping!

The outdoor bathroom is really refreshing.

You don’t need to worry on bringing toiletries as they provide them all.

After dropping our bags to the room when went back to the reception to eat. There is only one restaurant in the resort which is the bora beach bar. The cost of the food is similar to the price  here in Singapore it ranges from 10-15 sgd. But on top of our hotel charge we have 80 dollars to consume on the activities and food inside the resort.

There will be a free ride using this classic car ride which will tour you around the area and also can give you a ride going to the activity area.

There are so many activities you do inside the resort. The most popular of them is the wake boarding.

We finally got our scooter and decided to drive around the place. This 6.3 hectare area lagoon is so big to walk around.

So far we really enjoyed our stay here in Canopi Resort.

Below are my reviews:

Pros: really nice place,a lot activities, tents are clean and excellent furnishing

cons:

-No slippers

-Poor wifi at some area

-No other option of restaurant

-No convenient store nearby (bring water and some snack if your staying late)

*Please always double check information as some staff will give you misleading info like the driver he told us that we are not allowed to take scooter outside but then he is up selling his service taxi. Always make a research before you travel (really a must).Good thing i did my research.

Overall: 4.5

The place is still under renovation and I’m sure it will be a big hit in the next few months!

Here are some facts that i got from their website which makes it worth going aside from the beautiful photos i showed you:

  • 6.3 hectares, largest lagoon in South-East Asia with  115,060m3 or 115,060,000 litres
  • 1st in South East Asia
  • Eco-friendly technology, uses approximately 100 times less chemical products than conventional swimming pools
  • Energy efficient, consumes only 2% of the energy needed by conventional filtration pools
  • Crystal Lagoon’s innovative technology is sustainable and safe for the environment, allowing limited resources such as energy and water to be used efficiently. The lagoon operates in a closed circuit that only needs to compensate for water loss caused by evaporation
